The Magic Doors: First Week of Rehearsals

We’re back! For the next four weeks you can find us tucked away in a studio at the top of the Memo Theatre in Barry working on restaging The Magic Doors, touring April – June 2016.

To find out if we are coming to a venue near you take a closer look at our UK tour dates.

“The performers are doing a great job, learning the basics of the choreography in three day. The next stage is to make some edits to material to freshen things up, build each of the characters identities and refine the performance quality. ” – Sean Tuan John, Artistic Director

Sean works with the performers to map out the individual characters, how they interact with each other and the audience. Kim explains, “Character mapping helps to establish a strong storyline. Our audiences are young so this ensures we keep them engaged throughout.”

Not sure what to expect? One of our venue programmers sums it up perfectly; “The Magic Doors was full of surprises. Behind every door was a thrill, a fright, something funny or beautiful. An absolute treat!”

Both Charlie and Kim were in the original 2013 production while Alex is learning his role for the first time.

The Magic Doors Creative Team:
